Los Angeles: An American Airlines plane had to make an emergency landing after a female passenger found lice crawling on her head.
According to the report of the Indian news agency, American Airlines flight 2201 from Los Angeles to New York had to make an emergency landing due to the complaint of lice crawling in the woman’s hair.
Ethan Judelson, a passenger on the flight, recounted the incident in a TikTok video, saying the crew had given little information at the time about the emergency landing.
In his video, Mr. Judelson described the scene, saying, “I look around to see that none of the passengers are scared, but as we land, a woman runs quickly to the front of the plane.”
After the plane’s emergency landing, Judelson overheard fellow passengers talking about two passengers seeing lice crawling in a woman’s hair, which they alerted the flight attendant.
American Airlines later released a statement confirming that the flight was diverted and forced to make an emergency landing due to a medical emergency.
Passengers were informed of the 12-hour delay of the plane’s emergency landing and were also given hotel vouchers.
The incident took place on June 15 and the said flight was en route from Los Angeles to New York which was diverted to Phoenix due to a medical emergency.
