Colorado: A book taken out of a library in America was returned after 105 years.

Poudre Libraries, a library in the US state of Colorado, said on its website that Ivanhoe, written by Sir Walter Scott, was due to be returned to the Fort Collins Public Library and Free Reading Room on February 13, 1919.

The book was returned to the library by a woman who said her brother found it in his mother’s belongings in Kansas.

The library system said a late fee charged in 1919 for returning books late at two cents per day amounted to a $760 fine, but the library eliminated the penalty in 2020.
