London: In the budget of the new financial year of the United Kingdom, 1 million pounds have been allocated for the construction of a memorial to Muslims who sacrificed in the first and second world wars.

According to the British Broadcasting Corporation, while presenting the budget for the new financial year of Great Britain, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt also presented details regarding the memorial to Muslims who sacrificed for Britain in the First and Second World Wars “in the way of freedom and democracy”.

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt paid tribute to the 750,000 Muslims who made sacrifices for Britain, saying that the sacrifices of Muslims are unforgettable but we have not been able to thank them as we should.

Jeremy Hunt added that the current government has decided to build a memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum to document the sacrifices of Muslims and make it a part of history with a budget of £1 million.

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt’s suggestion was applauded by the members of the assembly and welcomed by ringing the desk.

It should be noted that former Minister for Health and Social Affairs Sajid Javed has played a key role in the construction of a memorial for the sacrifices of Muslims.

The memorial will be built in collaboration with the World Wars Muslim Memorial Trust, which seeks to honor Muslim soldiers from the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East and North Africa who died in the two world wars.

“We are very grateful for the Government’s support,” said Sir William Blackburn, chairman of the trust. Our plan is to undertake a broad re-examination of colonial history and highlight the role of Muslims in a dynamic and changing modern Britain.

“We also want to work towards shared sacrifices, a shared history and values and a comprehensive program of education for all Muslims and non-Muslims in Britain,” added Chairman Sir William.
