India’s underwater metro train will be inaugurated tomorrow

New Delhi: India has completed the construction of an underwater metro train tunnel, achieving a historic milestone.

According to Indian media, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India’s first underwater metro tunnel tomorrow in Kolkata.

These twin underwater tunnels are being called an architectural masterpiece.

It is India’s first underground metro tunnel passing under a major river in Kolkata which shows the development of basic infrastructure in the country.

The twin tunnels under the river are 520 meters long and are part of the 4.8 km stretch of metro rail connecting Kolkata to Howrah.

The railway track will pass 52 feet below the river bed and will carry more than 3,000 passengers every hour.
