New Delhi:

India has successfully conducted the first flight test of the Agni-5 missile with Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the scientists on the missile equipped with MIRV technology on social media website X.

Indian scientists have integrated the IMRV technology with the indigenously developed Agni-5 missile, after which a single Agni-5 missile will be able to carry multiple warheads to target different targets.

It should be noted that Agni-5 has a range of 5000 km, which makes it stand out in the long-range Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) category.

The US, UK, France, China and Russia are among the countries that are already using the MIRV missile, which was tested by Pakistan in 2017.

The Indian MIRV missile has been developed by the country’s military research arm Defense Research and Development Organisation.
