Cambridge: A post office in the southernmost region of the world has offered a job in which the employee’s responsibility is to sort letters and count penguins.

According to media reports, the Penguin Post Office in Antarctica needs 3 employees over a four-month period to sort letters and count penguins.

This post office is managed by the British organization Antarctic Heritage Trust and is located in Port Lockroy, Great Britain, on Goodyear Island.

The agency said the job will run from November this year to March 2025 and duties will include sorting letters and postcards, selling stamps, managing a small gift shop and counting the number of penguins at Port Lockroy.

Job positions include Base Leader, General Assistant and Shop Manager. In addition, applicants must be a UK citizen who can live in a room with up to five other people, without a phone, internet or running water for several days.

It should be noted that the Penguin Post Office handles 80,000 letters and postcards each year, most of which are sent by ocean liners during the summer.
