Washington: US President Joe Biden has expressed the possibility that an agreement on a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza is expected by Monday next week.
According to the World News Agency, US President Biden said this in a conversation with journalists. He added that the negotiations have not reached any conclusion so far, but we have definitely reached close to success.

A key Israeli official also told local media on condition of anonymity that the talks between Israel and Hamas are progressing in a positive direction.
Another Israeli news channel also claimed that a possible deal could include the release of several hundred Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons in exchange for Israeli hostages.

However, Israeli television Channel 12 claimed that the points and framework proposed for a ceasefire would not be acceptable to Ismail Haniyeh as they were incompatible with Hamas’ demands.
Earlier, Matthew Miller, the spokesperson of the US Department of State, said that progress has been made in the talks between Egypt, Israel, the US and Qatar that have been going on for the past several days.
It should be noted that Qatar, Egypt and the United States have been trying for a new ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas for the past several weeks.
