Mumbai: A close friend of world famous Indian ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas has revealed the reason behind his sudden death.
Renowned Indian singer who has made a special mark among music fans with romantic songs like ‘Chathi Ai Hai’, ‘Wah Bin Sunwar Kar Chale Hai Ghar Se’, ‘Chandi Jesa Rang’, ‘Chipke Chipke Sikhi Se’ and ‘Aahsta’. Pankaj Udhas died on February 26 at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.
The sudden death of 72-year-old Pankaj Adhas was reported by his daughter on social media, but she did not reveal the cause of the singer’s death.
However, now Pankaj Udhas’s close friend Anup Jalota while talking to Indian media said that Pankaj Udhas was suffering from pancreatic cancer, the singer was diagnosed with this disease a few months back.
Pankaj Adhas had been very ill since his diagnosis of cancer and his condition worsened in the last few days, which led to his death, said Anoop Jalota.

The sudden death of Pankaj Adhas is being expressed by the Indian music industry and Bollywood stars.
It should be noted that along with the ghazals sung by Pankaj Udhas, his pop songs also became famous. Pankaj Udhas gained popularity among the younger generation by presenting his ghazals with music videos in the 80s and 90s.
Pankaj Udhas also sang for films. His famous songs include Chithi Ai Hai, Chandi Jesa Rang Hai Tera and others. Pankaj Udhas was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2006.
