Rome: An Italian woman swimmer has set a world record by diving 459 feet below the ice in a lake.

27-year-old Valentina Cafola accomplished this feat by swimming without oxygen in Italy’s Lago di Intersalva.

Valentina previously held the record in 2017, which was recently held by Japanese athlete Yasuko Ozeki, who dived to a depth of 413 feet.

According to the World Underwater Federation, Valentina regained the record 36 hours after Yasuko Ozeki’s achievement.
