Bhopal: Tamil trade celebrity actress Nayantara has been booked for insulting Hindu god ‘Ram’ in her new movie ‘Annapurani’.

The case towards the actress has been filed by an extremist Hindu group in Madhya Pradesh’s Jalalpur and has additionally named the movie’s producer and the chief of Netflix India.

The Hindu extremist outfit has alleged that the movie insults their holy deity ‘Ram’ and promotes ‘love jihad’.

An FIR has been filed by a company known as Hindu Seva Parishad at Omti Police Station and 7 individuals have been named in it.

The movie ‘Annapurani’ launched in theaters on December 1, whereas it was launched on Netflix on December 29, has been pulled from the OTT platform following a number of police complaints.

Two extra complaints towards Nayantara have additionally been filed by Hindu extremist organizations Bajrang Dal and Hindu IT Cell in Mumbai.
